Today's Ideas:
for evening of Sat. Dec. 22, 2007

IMPORTANT: Below is what we're looking at currently, but pay attention to our UPDATES on the side of each page for actual entry/exit times and prices. Refresh pages often! You will witness our winners AND losers; something that is rare in our business.    TO VERIFY ACTUAL PRICES AND TIMES, PLEASE CLICK ON  A TICKER ENTRY TO THE RIGHT.  ALL TRADES, WHEN THEY OCCURED, ARE VIEWABLE.

Whenever possible, we have included the ETF symbol for those who are not experienced trading futures, etc.

Position update as of 7:40 pm:

Long 1 unit JPY futures (avg. price .008866)

Long 2 units SB (Sugar avg. price .10375)

Quiet trading most of the past week, however we did get a signal to go long the JPY futures (FXY etf) on Friday. We aren't real keen on initiating positions just before long holidays, but a signal is a signal. Also of note, sugar continues to me very strong, and this is a candidate to add when volume returns, if not sooner. Sugar does NOT need to pull back to add units.

There are several potential setups occurring in the next week or two. Although this signal has not yet occurred, we are close to shorting the IWM (or long the TWM etf). Additionally, we are nearing a buy signal in the Euro futures, and of course hoping to see strength in the JPY (yen) so that we can add units. Remember to adjust position sizes to accommodate for the thinner holiday trading, and don't force situations. The markets will be there for us into the new year, and it's important to keep your powder dry, and your head straight. That's not to say we can't make some gains between now and then, but just don't lose focus of the overall picture! We'll see you on the "Ticker" on Sunday night to see how the Asian markets open.

    Good luck, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

People often ask what our time frames are for each trade, and that is different for each position.  In general, however, most trades last about a week or two, BUT we  trade around the positions as you saw today.  Hence, we DO day trade at times.  We encourage any questions and comments on how to improve our site, and hope you find it useful.  This is a great business, but the learning curve can really take awhile as most successful traders don't have any reason to share ideas. This site is our way of giving back to the trading arenas, in the name of the few mentors we found that helped us along the way. Good luck.

We can't always explain the reasoning for trades, but they are often a combination of technical, fundamental, and "gut feel". Pay attention, have fun, and make money!
