    Jim Rogers:

Ten minute video of Jim Rogers, sticking to his guns, as usual:

Just a side note that seems relevant. I'm planning on moving out of the country for a few years. The reasons are many, but the current and future political climate have hastened my desire to shake things up. As with my trading, I've remained flexible with my goals, and the timing seems right. I will most likely keep the website running, but might have some downtime as I get situated. The move won't be until sometime near the end of the first quarter 2009.

I think your plan to move is a wise one. Hopefully you can find a more advantageous tax situation -- and a more stable civic one as well.

My wife and I plan to do the same in two years, having just come back from an overseas stint in May of this year. Things have changed here...and like you, our reasons are many.

It sounds like we're on the same page. As my wife likes to remind me, I'm often early in my longer term prognostications, but frequently correct for my purposes. Combine our love of adventure with the disappointment of the US's tailspin, and the decision is clear. Of course we'll all be affected no matter where we live, but the trade in my opinion is to lose as little as possible, whether it be freedom, taxes, or social stability.

Traders are in a unique situation that allows them to live and work almost anywhere. Good luck in your travels!
